- IPR economist and legal scholar Chika Okafor was selected for Leadership Greater Chicago's Signature Fellows Program.

- Education sociologist and IPR associate Cynthia Coburn received the 2026 Martin E. and Gertrude G. Walder Award for Research Excellence.

- Kellogg social psychologist and IPR associate William Brady was named a World’s Best 40-Under-40 MBA Professor of 2026 by Poets&Quants.
- Professor of medical social sciences and IPR associate Brian Mustanski was awarded the Distinguished Scientific Achievement Award from the International Academy of Sex Research.

- IPR anthropologist Sera Young was named a 2026 Guggenheim Fellow.

- IPR legal scholar Chika Okafor and political scientist and IPR associate Martin Naunov were awarded Sheldon Danziger Pipeline Grants from the Russell Sage Foundation.
- Professor and IPR fellow emeritus Wesley Skogan received the 2026 O.W. Wilson Award, the flagship award of the Police Section of the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences.
- IPR political scientist Sally Nuamah was selected by the Rockefeller Foundation for the 2026 Bellagio Center Residency Program, a prestigious interdisciplinary 26-day residency on Lake Como, Italy.

- IPR economist Charles Manski received the BBVA Foundation Frontiers of Knowledge Award in Economics, Finance, and Management, for incorporating uncertainty into economic research and its application to public policy analysis.
- Kellogg social psychologist and IPR associate William Brady received the Association for Psychological Science (APS) Janet Taylor Spence Award, which recognizes APS members who have made transformative early-career contributions to psychological science.
January 2026
- IPR social psychologist Mesmin Destin was appointed a Senior Carnegie Fellow and will help develop a new Skills Progression on perseverance as part of the Carnegie Foundation’s broader skills framework.
- Political scientist and IPR associate Danielle Gilbert's Kellogg case study, titled “Full Court Press: The Negotiations to Bring Wrongfully Detained WNBA Star Brittney Griner Home,” was published by Kellogg Case Publishing (login required).
- Chair and professor of medical social sciences and IPR associate Rinad Beidas was elected co-editor-in-chief of Implementation Science.
- IPR anthropologist Sera Young was appointed Senior Research Fellow and Lead of Water, Nutrition and Health Equity at the United Nations University Institute for Water, Environment and Health.
- IPR faculty Bernard Black, David Cella, Alice Eagly, Larry Hedges, Dean Karlan, Kristen Knutson, Charles Manski, Greg Miller, Thomas McDade, Brian Mustanski, Mary Pattillo, James Spillane, and Seth Stein were named Highly Ranked Scholars by ScholarGPS, placing them among the top 0.05% of scholars worldwide.
