Summer 2010 IES/NCER Research Training Institute:
Quasi-Experimental Design and Analysis in Education
AT THE INSTITUTE FOR POLICY RESEARCH, NORTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY

Recently, the National Center for Education Research (NCER) in the Institute of Education Sciences awarded the Institute for
Policy Research at Northwestern University a three-year grant for a summer research training institute on better quasi-experimental design and analysis in order to increase the national capacity of researchers to develop and conduct rigorous evaluations of the impact of education interventions.
The workshops are co-organized by Thomas Cook, Joan and Sarepta Harrison Chair in Ethics and Justice, Professor of Sociology, Psychology, Education and Social Policy, Northwestern University, and William Shadish, Professor, Founding Faculty, and Chair, Psychological Sciences Section University of California, Merced.
