Inside the
Black Box of Schools:
Classrooms, Teachers, and School Leaders
Policymakers at federal, state, and local levels are concerned
about lackluster student achievement in many of America’s
schools. But researchers and administrators have difficulty in pinpointing
the factors that contribute to successful—as well as failing—schools.
A trio of experts explored the impact of classroom size, teacher
quality, and school leadership on success for schools and students.
